Bowels

Well school is cool. To bad the 5th graders have other opinions. My time is slow I have some responsibility within the classroom but not quite enough. The teacher and I get along great she is just not quite giving up the reins. She is stuck following EOU's old program and is just waiting to see how are first week of fall classes go then I shall receive more responsibility. Good news about it is that I get lots of one on one time with the students. I get to play public relations and have built a great repertoire with the students. So when the time comes the students should have a great deal of respect. At least I envision they will. We do have so much fun together! We had a on the whim talk about farts the other day. I felt like such a 5th grader. The teacher definately handled the situation much more different than I would have. I was in the back trying not to giggle over the situation while she was up there giving a serious discussion regarding bowel movements. Difference in age I imagine. Her and I. Rock on

End of week two

Well what an interesting couple of weeks. I have students starting to settle into their ways, we have smiles, laughter, and commotion. One student in particluar is going to need some help. Individual help is his best motivator but that is just not plausible, although I am an observer/personal assistant (to students) I cannot focus the amount of time this student needs. how can I get him to take more ownership in his efforts? Class is great I have some responsibility in the teaching department read alouds and other small tasks. I have taught numerous art lessons to a multidude of ages for a community school mural that we are partaking in. All in all the world is still full of smiles.

Start of vacation

The two weeks of summer enjoyment have begun. I know some of the other classmates to not get the full two weeks but they will get to enjoy more of June than I will. Today is a good day, I invested in climbing gear to replace the gear that was previously stolen before I came to LaGrande and I have found some of the local hotspots. The local information was hard to find had to act like a journalist and do some heavy duty research. But I have the info know and will get on the rock over the course of the next two weeks. What a great way to spend time before the cram of practicum begins.

Well I wish all good luck and look foward to hearing about the adventures. Will update as time comes goes on. Have a great day.

Not intense

Well I remember the first days of the program and all the warnings I recieved about how busy I will be. But that has just not happened. I had a conversations with a university prof. and he said just wait time will come we are just working you in slowly. Well I hope so. Teachers are supposed to be busy. When student teaching begins, so do work samples, lesson plans, observations and a multitude of other things so maybe when Sept. comes so will the massive amount of work that I was previously warned about. Until then just occupying my time. Any ideas of things to occupy my time?
